The Italian side tells the number of prisoners captured in Africa & in Italy, number of vehicles destroyed, and the different units that made up the 1st Armored Division. The 15th Artillery was organized in 1917 in Syracuse, New York. In the 1940's they supported the fires of the Division throughout Germany. In 1950 the 15th was sent to Korea. It had the motto of "Second to None" in the two world wars. They were also known as the Indianhead warriors. It was part of the 2nd Infantry Division. The National Guard units of the 43rd Division were inducted into service on February 24, 1941. The 43rd participated in four campaigns: Guadalcanal, the Northern Solomons, JNew Guinea and Luzon.
